I know some people may not understand, but this song is so important to me.
My best friend and I have been like sisters since fifth grade, and now I’ve finished my freshman year of college and live an hour south of home and she’s graduating high school this month and moving an hour north of home.
This song came out my freshman year of high school and my best friend and I would sing it to each other. At our combined sweet sixteen we even slow danced to it.
And now, five years later, as we come to a slight bump in the road, we have decided to get it tattooed on ourselves forever. “I’ll be right here.”
My mom said it was a bad idea, in case we ever have a falling out. But even if that does happen, it will still be a daily reminder that when I was growing up I had a best friend that always had my back. Someone who shared all the amazing memories with me, like going to Disney and Atlantic Beach and Wildwood. And all the shitty times too, like the breakups and high school and crazy drunken nights.
No matter where we end up in life, this tattoo that we are getting will remind me that she is always with me. No matter what.
Eight years strong. <3
pretty sure the re-piercing is the only one that will actually hurt.
getting my skeleton key on my wrist.
and then “I’ll be right here.” in Christina’s hand writing on my shoulder. :)
